The Royal Castle of Govone is becoming an important bridge for supporting Ukraine. The historic residence hosted a major international forum to solidify the collaboration officially launched in January 2026, when the castle signed an agreement with the Odessa Archaeological Museum.

Beyond the exchange of expertise and the preservation of cultural heritage, the partnership entails developing joint projects, with a particular focus on improving the energy efficiency of museum buildings in Ukraine. As highlighted by Roberto Cerrato, President of the Cultural Landscape Study Center, the cooperation between the Piedmont region and Odessa is set to grow even stronger, with the next major meeting between the partners already scheduled in Govone for mid-autumn.

On Thursday, July 9, the Royal Castle will host an international conference featuring the Government’s Special Envoy Davide La Cecilia, Regional President Alberto Cirio, alongside institutional, research, and business representatives, to explore cooperation prospects in the country’s reconstruction.

On Thursday, July 9, the Royal Castle of Govone will serve as a meeting point for institutions, academia, and businesses to reflect on the prospects of Ukraine’s reconstruction and the role that international cooperation will play in the coming years.

The event, scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM, is promoted by the Center for Research on the Cultural Landscape of Langhe Roero Monferrato. It will feature the participation of Ambassador Davide La Cecilia, the Italian Government’s Special Envoy for the reconstruction of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside the President of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio, Regional Councilor for Infrastructure Marco Gabusi, and the President of the Province of Cuneo Luca Robaldo.

The conference will open with institutional welcomes, followed by presentations from experts addressing reconstruction from technological, energy, and cultural heritage preservation perspectives. Announced speakers include Sergio Olivero, Head of Finance & Business Innovation at the Energy Center of the Polytechnic University of Turin, Lorenzo Cittera, CEO of Ilsat BD, and Angelo Chiesa, CEO of Italveco Energy.

Of particular significance will be the presence of the delegation from the Odesa Archaeological Museum, represented by Director Yuri Maslov and Head Igor Pistrul, testifying to the collaborative relationship built in recent months between Piedmont and one of the Ukrainian city’s primary cultural institutions.

The proceedings will be introduced by Roberto Cerrato, President of the Center for Research on the Cultural Landscape of Langhe Roero Monferrato and general coordinator of the initiative.

Indeed, this meeting represents a further development of the strategic cooperation agreement signed in January 2026 between the Odesa Archaeological Museum, the Royal Castle of Govone, Ilsat BD, and Italveco Energy. The agreement aims to foster the exchange of expertise and good museum practices, the enhancement of archaeological heritage, scientific research, and the development of joint international projects, with a specific focus on the energy efficiency of cultural facilities.

The choice of the Royal Castle of Govone, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Savoy Residences, lends further significance to the initiative. It aims to strengthen collaborative relations with Ukraine through a discussion on the prospects of reconstruction and the protection of historical and cultural heritage, backing institutional support with a network of scientific and entrepreneurial expertise.

Ambassador Carlo Formosa brought together in Kyiv Italian entrepreneurs who have been operating in Ukraine for years and companies launching new projects in the country. It was an opportunity to share experiences, contacts, and knowledge, create new connections, and strengthen the Italian presence in Ukraine.

This initiative continues after a series of webinars involving over 1,000 Italian companies, aiming to consolidate an increasingly coordinated business community, also through the work of the Italian Business Association (IBA), established a few months ago at the instigation of the Embassy to strengthen the visibility and capacity of Italian businesses in Ukraine.

The Embassy continues to promote dialogue between businesses and institutions, fostering the sharing of expertise and the coordination of the Italian system to support the Italian economic presence in Ukraine.

The Free Municipal Consortium of Trapani and the Rivne region of Ukraine have officially established a partnership. Salvatore Quinci, President of the Consortium, announced the signing of a Cooperation Protocol following a visit by a Ukrainian delegation led by Vice-Governor Ihor Pavlenko.

“The signing of this Protocol is the beginning of a journey of cooperation founded on the common values of democracy and freedom,” stated Salvatore Quinci.

Palazzo Riccio di Morana hosted a significant institutional meeting between the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Trapani and a delegation from the Ukrainian region of Rivne, led by Vice-President Ihor Pavlenko. The visit marks the beginning of a dialogue focused on international cooperation and solidarity.

President Salvatore Quinci strongly reaffirmed the territory’s support: “This meeting is an opportunity to reiterate our commitment to peace, freedom, and democracy. Trapani is ready to play its part, not only in immediate solidarity but also in the future global challenge of Ukraine’s economic and social reconstruction.”

In the coming days, the delegation will engage with local cultural, economic, and social organizations. The discussions will focus on strategic sectors such as forest heritage protection, territorial security, and the exchange of institutional expertise.

The visit is set to culminate in the signing of a formal cooperation protocol, sealing a long-term partnership between Trapani and the Rivne region based on mutual cooperation and shared values.

On January 15, 2026, an official signing ceremony took place for the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Sergiivka Settlement Council and the prominent Italian company “Italveco srl.” The document was signed by the Council Secretary, Artem Shevchenko, and the Legal Representative of the company, Matteo Noe.

This agreement paves the way for a large-scale project to install modern energy generation plants within the community. The partnership is dedicated to supporting citizens affected by Russian military aggression and ensuring stable energy solutions for the region.

Key Objectives of the Cooperation:

• Technology Implementation: Installation of energy generation and storage systems based on Italian expertise.
• Infrastructure Development: Modernizing existing power grids and establishing a joint technical competence center.

In November 2025, the Odessa Archaeological Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine took a definitive step toward European integration by signing a large-scale Memorandum of Cooperation with Italian partners. The alliance includes the Royal Castle of Govone (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and the innovative companies Italveco Energy and ILSAT BD.

The goal of this agreement extends far beyond cultural exchange, aiming for a comprehensive modernization of the museum within the framework of “energy-driven urban renovation.” This includes implementing advanced energy-efficiency technologies, developing digital platforms for exhibitions, and digitizing archives. A critical highlight of the agreement is the cooperation on demining archaeological sites as part of post-conflict urban regeneration programs.

To oversee these projects, a Technical-Scientific Committee of experts from both nations has been established. This committee will focus on securing international investments and grants from the EU and UNESCO. This initiative transforms the Odessa Museum into an innovation hub, bridging ancient history with the technologies of tomorrow.

The leadership of the Sviatoshyn District State Administration (RDA), headed by Heorhiy Zantaraya, together with representatives of the Italian company Novello, inspected houses damaged as a result of Russian aggression in the Sviatoshyn district.

The guests saw the scale of the destruction and learned about the needs of residents who lost their homes.

“For us, it is important not just to rebuild what was destroyed, but to do so with quality, speed, and in compliance with all modern environmental and energy efficiency standards,” said Heorhiy Zantaraya.

On the initiative of the KMBA, under the leadership of Timur Tkachenko, Kyiv is starting cooperation with Novello. The project involves the construction of modern modular housing for people who have lost their homes due to the war, as well as for socially vulnerable residents of Kyiv.

The district head thanked Mr. Moreno Novello and the company representatives for their attention and willingness to contribute to the district’s recovery.

Novello SRL has taken another important step in strengthening its cooperation with Ukraine. We have reached an agreement to implement a project for modular housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kyiv.

This document confirms the shared commitment of both parties to creating safe, comfortable, and dignified living conditions for people in need of a new home.

Italian company Novello srl, renowned for its innovative approach to modular and eco-sustainable housing, is taking a strategic step forward by establishing a production facility in Ukraine’s Rivne region.

The decision follows a series of meetings with representatives of the regional administration. The most recent in-person meeting between CEO Moreno Novello and Governor of Rivne Region Oleksandr Koval came after an initial online discussion held in July.

During the talks, both parties explored key factors essential for launching production — including regional safety, human capital, and the availability of natural resources.

“We see Ukraine not only as a promising market but also as a place where our values — sustainability, innovation, and responsibility — are shared and appreciated. Rivne offers excellent conditions for the sustainable development of our production,” said Moreno Novello, CEO of Novello srl.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, paving the way for the establishment of a modern Novello production facility in Ukraine. The Rivne Regional Administration, in turn, expressed its commitment to providing full support to Italian investors.

This partnership stems from the agreements reached earlier in Rome during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025). For Novello, this is not just a business expansion, but a contribution to the reconstruction and future of a country demonstrating exceptional resilience and determination to rebuild.
